Amazing baking skills on show in 2016

Thursday 24th, Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November 2016

Excuse the pun but the competition was hot for the title of Great Grammar Bake Off Champion this year.

Over 150 Grammar School Students entered their baked creations in 4 categories and there were some truly amazing results.

Georgia Clegg won the overall title this year with her Mince Pies, which impressed the judges for their taste and texture.

There was stiff competition from the other categories, noted below;

The Categories were;
  • Victoria Sandwich
  • Swiss Roll
  • Mince Pies
  • Bakers choice

The results were as follows;
Victoria Sponge
  1. Amber Black
  2. Kaitlyn Gale
  3. Molly Bentham
Swiss Roll
  1. Abi Preistley
  2. Emma Vondy
  3. Amy Salter
Mince Pies
  1. Georgia Clegg
  2. Megan Brew
  3. Ellie Hope
Bakers Choice
  1. Kyle Barrientos
  2. Mia Dunwell

A special mention should be made for Kyle Barrientos who made a Creme Caramel which turned out very well, especially as it was his first effort!

As always, thanks go to Tina and the Food Technology department at Ramsey Grammar School for being so willing to accommodate such a large project.

Also, we must say a massive thank you to the Sponsors (who are listed below) as without their input, we just couldn't have so many students involved.
